Horses and dogs have many different characteristics. Horses are large and all of them are of the same size, while dogs are little and of different shapes and sizes. On the other hand, people can ride horses, but obviously, they cannot ride dogs; they can only take them for a walk. Also, their physical characteristics are very different: horses have slower metabolism, large ears, several stomachs, hoof; they fluff up their hair, have a larger respiratory system, and are herbivores. Otherwise, dogs have a higher metabolism, they have paws, short ears, one stomach, a gastro intestinal tract, their skin has several layers and they are carnivorous.

Brenda, First, I think your topic sentence is very good. I see you deleted the words "big animals" like I suggested to you, congratulations for doing that! That means you took in consideration my retroalimentation.

There are two main options for regular smokers: tobacco cigarettes and electronic cigarettes, one option is better than the other. When it comes to the senses, tobacco cigarettes smell way worse than electronic ones, which usually have pleasant scents, because they also taste better. On the healthy side, tobacco cigarettes often lead to lung cancer and other problems, unlike electronic cigarettes, which are safer. Finally, tobacco cigarettes are disposable and you have to spend a lot of money on packs; on the other hand, electronic cigarettes are refilled every once in a while and last longer. Electronic cigarettes are definitely the best best option for smokers, for their health, people around them and their wallets.

You did a good job in describing the two types of cigarettes and giving the advantages and disadvantages of each one. the connectors are in the right place and makes the paragraph easier to understand and finally the concluding sentence shows your opinion of which of the cigarettes is better and it persuade the reader to think the same way as you did. :)

ReplyDeleteThey both have awesome characteristics but they are really different too. Steve, just as Tony, is very sexy and nice, and they are good leaders. A big difference between them is that Steve is humble, compassionate, and disciplined, whereas, Tony is arrogant, harsh, and he does what he wants.
They both are strong but Tony wears an armor suit that helps him a lot and Steve was modified genetically so he had an amazing strength.
Tony is in a relationship with Pepper, on the other hand, Steve is single and so am I... so we could match.

In the last paragraph you wrote other connectors that didn't connect the sentences very well; in this paragraph I notice that you corrected them. Alexa is a medium size, blond hair, and white skin girl; unlike Veronica, who is a tiny, swarthy, and black hair girl. Their personalities are completely different: Alexa is talkative, faultfinding, and loves to be the center of attention; on the contrary, Veronica is sentimental, sweet, quiet, and very reserved. We are friends, but I always have to do different things with each other: Veronica’s interests are going to the cinema, going to restaurants, and also, she loves to sing; on the other hand, Alexa is not as quiet as Veronica, Alexa’s interests are: gymnastic and she loves American football. Finally, Alexa got engaged, while Veronica is still single. But at the end of the day, Alexa is my friend, likewise Veronica is.
I think you made a really good paragraph and you have an effective topic sentence. The only mistakes I found, were some missing punctuation marks, but I can see that you already correct them, and i noteced that you change your ending sentence for other more effective.

For example, I think that in the second line you can change the semicolons by "because its screen is..." The other thing you should check is the colons in the second line, I think it is better to use a period than a colon. You should write more information to make your paragraph bigger and work in your conclusion.

I have two best friends, Jocabed and Anayessie, and they are different but both are good people. Jocabed is a reserved and private person. She didn't like talking to people because she is a little shy. We are friends since childhood we think our friendship will never end. Her hobby is reading, she always reads especially romantic stories. Anyessie, on the other hand, is more sociable and cheerful person. Her hobby is chat with her friends because she loves her friends. We are friends since high school and we had better friendship since 9th grade, and although we don't see each by the distance, we keep in touch through whatsapp messages. Although they are very different, I love them both and they always be my best friends.

They are both slim and short, but Fernanda has her natural hair color, and Gretel dyed it purple; also, Gretel has a piercing on her nose, and Fernanda doesn´t. About their personalities, they are joyful and friendly; we laugh all the time and almost never argue with each other. They are very social and kind of crazy, but the one who has the weirdest and craziest ideas is definitely Gretel. However, Fernanda has a weak personality, whereas Gretel is totally the opposite, having a personality that eclipses the others. About their interests, they both like cats a lot, and have the same taste of music, but Fernanda loves skulls, and Gretel prefers pretty things. In the same way, they both love sleeping, eating, and using Facebook a lot, but Fernanda is a gamer, she enjoys playing videogames like Minecraft, and Gretel prefers going to parties or shopping. Anyway, even though they have a lot in common, they have little differences that make them unique, just the way I love them.

DeleteMy hometown and college town have many differences. For example, the language they speak, In Monterrey people speak Spanish while in San Antonio people speak English. Another difference is their location; the city of San Antonio is in the southwestern United States, but Monterrey is in the north of Mexico. The weather is only different in winter, because in the summer they have around the same temperatures; but in the winter, Monterrey can get cold; however, it gets much colder in San Antonio. They also differ in job opportunities each has, for example, Monterrey has many opportunities for bilingual teachers, but in San Antonio, they pay better. The most important difference for me is that In San Antonio I have friends, but in Monterrey I have family; and I will choose my family over friends every single time. Even though Monterrey and San Antonio are very different, they are both wonderful places to live and visit.

DeleteMy brother and sister are opposites in a lot of things, starting with their ages, he is 15 years old an she is 13 years old. While my brother is very tall, my sister is short. My brother is chubby and fair skinned; on the other hand, my sister is thin and tan skinned. They are different in the way they act too; my sister is very obedient when my mom or dad ask her to do something and on the contrary, my brother is spoiled and rebel and he never wants to obey my parents. My brother does not like the school so he always gets bad grades but my sister loves school and she also has been in the honor roll because of her good grades.

I have two dogs in my house and they have some differences. The first dog is a French poodle and she is 7 years old, her name is Muñeca and is a small dog. Her hair color is gray, and she has very short tail. Muñeca lives inside of the house and she has her food in a bowl, she eats a little because is a small dog. On the other hand my second dog is a bull terrier, and his name is Bruno, he is 1 year old and is a really big dog. The color of his hair is white, and he has a large and brown tail. He lives out of the house in the patio because is too big and it is an uncontrolled dog. Bruno eats two times a day and he eats a lot of food. My dogs are really different in many aspects that are very remarkable.

Almost everybody has a Facebook account but, is not same with Twitter so, we cn see that Facebook is more popular than Facebook. The users of Facebook are called friends and in Twitter are followers.

DeleteThe Day of the Death and Halloween are two celebrations with different meaning each other. The Day of the Day is the most important Mexican celebration, people celebrate this traditional holiday on November 2nd. On the contrary, Halloween is the most popular American celebration,this holiday is celebrated on October 31st. Their purposes are different too. During The Day of the Death people remember their family of friends who have passed away. On the other hand, during Halloween celebrations people fear death, not celebrate it. However, during The Day of the Day is a tradition to visit the cementary, leave food at the altar with candles, incense and picture of the dead person. On the contrary, in Halloween people go to the parties. decorate their house with a ghoulish theme and children go to trick or treating door to door. At the end, each celebration has different meaning but people enjoy both.

ReplyDeleteBoth of my parents have different personalities but preferences in common. My mom is Patricia, she is 39 years old; my father is older than my mom, he is 43 years old. Their personalities are so different, my mom sometimes is so impatient while she is doing something, but she is really sensitive; then, my father is always telling jokes, he is so funny but a little bit shy. One of the activities they love to do is going to parties, spending time with friends and family. Also they enjoy a lot their jobs because they like working outside, not on an office. I love my parents so much even if they have different personalities and attitudes, but at the end of the day, they are my family

Exactly, I get confused about that phrase because I did not know if "that" could be omitted or not. I have to say that writing this paragraph was a little bit complicated because of the organization of the differences and similarities between them; and I think I had to write more characterictics. DeleteSometimes the ways to teach depends on the teacher, if you have a good teacher you can learn easier. I have two English teachers but they have different ways to teach. Both studied in Facultad de Filosofia y Letras, but they have different methods of teaching, Mr. Arizmendi have a good attitude, he always have patience for the students and explain us everything, point by point, and if someone doesn’t understand he can repeat and repeat until you understand him, on the other hand Miss Huerta have a bad attitude, she doesn’t have patience, she always get angry when one student doesn’t understand and she doesn’t want to explain us. Mr Arizmendi’s class is always organized, he has a plan every day, he always tells us before what we are going to do, however Miss Huerta’s class is sometimes disorganized, usually she doesn’t have a plan and just tells us: “answer the book” and we need to read the whole book and answer it. Mr. Arizmendi's exams, are usually easy, o maybe I thik that because the teacher explain us and that help us in the exams, on the other hand exams with Miss Huerta are very difficult, because we don’t understand anything. But at the end, both are good teachers.

DeleteThe Samsung Galaxy S6 and the Apple Iphone 6 show many defferences in the features, price, size, appearance, and in the way they work. Samsung Galaxy S6 works faster, is bigger, and it does not cost as much ass the Iphone 6. On the contrary the Apple´s device works almost the same as Samsung's but Iphone 6v in more expensiev because of the brand, just because it is a little more dependable. However, Samsung Galaxy S6 is getting more and more people who buy this device because it is improving its products so in this way Samsung can copete with Apple, this way it is becoming a better option. Each device has its own advantages but it depends on what people like or need.Despite this two devices have more defferences that equalities both are good options you can choose because both have really good software and hardware that can be useful for you, but first you must thing about what you like or need.

ReplyDeletePriscila has been my friend for four years, we met in high school in an English classroom when I was still living in Acapulco, and since that moment we became close friends. I really like her personality, she is funny and polite, and we make a good team together. On the other hand, I met Alejandra at the University, we have been friends since I first moved out to Monterrey, she is hard working and a little bit reserved. I appreciate all she has done for me, she, as well as Priscila, have been a big support in my life. Although their personalities may be different, I still thinking that if they ever meet, they will get along well. I am hoping that to happen in the future, it would be kind of funny and interesting at the same time, but right now all I can say is that I am happy to have them as friends.

My friends are totally opposite. Brenda is an 18 years old girl that has light brown hair, brown eyes and an amazing smile, while, Dulce is 19 years old, has dark brown hair and beautiful eyes, they both have soft skin but Brenda’s skin is darker than Dulce’s, Brenda is almost as tall as Dulce, and they are both skinny. Describing their personalities I can express that Brenda is pretty reserved and patient, but on the other hand Dulce is very outgoing. Their life styles are very different too, starting with the fat that Brenda is from Monterrey meanwhile Dulce is from Acapulco. Brenda lives in a house with her parents and has three siblings on the contrary Dulce lives in an apartment with her aunt and has no brother or sisters. Brenda wants to become an English teacher in the same way as Dulce. They are both my friends, I could never choose between them.

DeleteHaving two dogs is a really hard thing, Chop and Ches, Chop is 1 year old, he is lovely and friendly as Ches but Chop is really restless, I really hate that, He has a beautiful brown color and is really fat. On the other hand, Ches is physically different, he’s 10 months old, not even a year he is skinny and totally black, the only difference about their personality is that Ches is really peaceful; nevertheless I love both of them, a lot.

DeleteMy dogs are so different. Eight years ago, my first pet Brownie was born, nowadays she is 20 cm tall and weighs 10kg, she likes to go to the park but she cannot run fast because she is old. Also, she hates to play with kids or unknown people. On the other hand, I got Naty since 2013, she is 60cm tall and weighs 30kg, she loves to run in the park as fast as she can. She is so friendly; she likes to play with children. Both of them are lovely and they enjoy beingh together, they are my best friends.

DeleteSummer and winter are really different, but there are many things you can do to enjoy them. There are some advantages of each season, in summer you can go to the beach or the river and, on the other hand, in winter you can go skiing or just stay resting at home. Talking about clothes, in summer you can wear loose clothes to fell fresh. On the contrary, in winter you could use warm and comfy clothes and with both of them you could feel comfortable. And finally, when is too hot in summer you can have cold drinks (there are many options of them). However, you could have hot drinks in winter, for example, coffee, tea, etc. Both seasons are enjoyable, you just have to focus on the advantages and the funny activities you can do in each one.

Volleyball is a game in which you have to use a net with nine meters of length and one meter of width, the ball cannot touch the floor in any moment, and the measures of the court are eighteen meters of width and nine meters of length. The equipment is a ball that has sixty five centimeters of circumference; the purpose of the game is to use your hands to pass it over the net until it touches the opposite side of the court to score points. Basketball; on the other hand, is a game in which you use a basket with forty seven centimeters of diameter, the ball can touch the floor, and the measures of the court are fifteen meters of width and twenty eight meters of length. The equipment is a ball with seventy three centimeters of circumference; the purpose of the game is to pass the ball through the basket to score points. In conclusion, volleyball has many different aspects compared to the Basketball.
Lídice, my reflexion with respect to your corrections are that I will be more specific in my paragraph when I write about the comparison, in this way, people will understand what I want to express. My two favorite pets are very different. They are both cats, but Kat is an adult and Benito is a baby; Benito is thin and small, and Kat is pretty fat and big. They are both white but combined with a different color: Benito has brown hair while Kat is white with black. About their "personality", Beito is hyperative, whereas Kat is lazy and sleeps everywhere, Benito is a new member of the family; and Kat is the alfa. They have a few differences, but also things in common. Anyway, they are my babies.
